Tooth gems and charms are tooth jewelry attached to the front surface of a tooth.  Although tooth gems can last up to a year, they are temporary and not intended for permanent use. The gem is securely attached to the tooth or teeth but can easily be removed.

The tooth gem procedure typically takes minutes after location and placement has been discussed. The tooth or teeth involved are prepared and then jewelry is attached with a tooth-colored or translucent dental adhesive, similar to an orthodontic bracket.

This is a fun, beautiful, sassy way to make a statement with your smile. Although some people are not good candidates for tooth gems. Tooth gems cannot be applied to fake teeth of any kind (veneers, crowns, bonded areas of teeth). Other situations that can compromised tooth gem success are poor oral hygiene, periodontal problems, heavy plaque accumulation, active tooth decay, enamel irregularities, dry mouth, people who grind and clinch their teeth or wear a night guard  and excessive exposure to highly acidic foods. Visiting your dentist at least twice a year will allow you to better understand your current dental health.
